DCL Penta Peel Pads

Acids pads are a great way to exfoliate the skin in one sweep and leave it resurfaced & refined.  After seeing Caroline Hirons use these pads, I had to of course give them a try!

What are DCL Penta Peel Pads?

A ground-breaking multi-purpose peel developed with a blend of five naturally derived acids that gently resurfaces and renews the skin in five ways in just five minutes.

They are strong pads that not only chemically exfoliate the skin, but the texture of the pad means they physically buff away imperfections too.

How did it work for me?

While they state they can be used for all skin types, I think they would be a bit harsh on more sensitive skins.  They are in my mind, quite hard-core pads which means they do the job, but I wouldn’t be using more than a couple of times per week. They contain one of my favourite acids, salicylic acid, which is great for getting deep down into the pore and clearing out debris.  So, if you’re prone to spots and blockages, these are a great option.

How to use?

A couple of times per week, sweep the pad in a gentle circular motion over clean, dry skin avoiding eyes and lips.  Wait for between 3-5 minutes, and then rinse with cool water. Follow with sunscreen in the morning or your usual moisturiser at night.  By rinsing off, you deactivate the acids to allow your other serums to be applied without irritation.

Do you need it?

If funds allow (they’re 65euro) and you’re concerned about texture and blockages on the skin, it is a good option. It’s also great to see companies using different acids to glycolic.  Not everyone can tolerate glycolic so if you’re one of those, these could be for you. However, like I said, be careful if you have sensitive skin.

What does it contain?

Mandelic acid refines texture, lactic acid smoothes rough spots and eases the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Phytic acid brightens and evens out skin tone, while salicylic acid unclogs pores and hyaluronic acid hydrates.

Where can I buy it?
